Character, main and offspecs:
Main - Boomkin (53 traits)
Offspec - Healing (47 traits), Tank (47 traits)
What is your main spec and why?
Much prefer Boomkin playstyle due to the fact it's so extremely mobile while still being able to put out a decent amount of AoE and single target damage. The improved Innervate is a great asset as well for healers as it not only helps with sustaining mana but also provides extra haste when cast.
It's also a very clever class in terms of pooling resources, due to the fact that we have no on demand AoE there has to be careful planning of Astral Power and when to reserve it for key AoE points.
Which talents do you use and which changes (if any) do you make for each specific encounter of the most current raid?
As most of Nighthold consists of AoE based damage I end up going with the memekin build for most fights (using Oeneth and Fel Essence as legendaries), however for pure ST damage I do switch to my ST build which uses Emerald Dream catcher and Fel Essence leggos to bolster it. Beyond that there may be minor tweaks in regards to some talents or legendaries depending on how long the fight lasts and if there's heavy movement involved.
To what extent do you play each of your offspecs?
(i.e. Do you use them in raids / are you up to date with knowledge, practice and interface / do you have any artifact power and legendaries / do you enjoy them / would you be willing to make them your main spec if beneficial for the guild)
I often play my resto spec particularly in Mythic + and in heroic Nighthold runs. I've recently managed to obtain 2 pretty decent legendaries on my resto spec which helps out a lot (shoulders and bracers). I play my tank spec from time to time but mostly to get Augment runes from call to arms (and occasionally to tank HC Nighthold).
Do you have any significant alts?
I have my Paladin, Mcholyface (as you can see I'm very creative with my names!) who's at about 899 ilvl at the moment, but with 46 traits in his DPS and healing artifacts. Working on him whenever I have the time, hopefully can get him up to at least 905 very soon (or higher once ToS lands).
Did you ever change classes and do you consider doing so again in the future?
I used to main an elemental shaman from TBC to end of Cata. I had a long break from WoW but returned just before legion and decided on this druid instead. It's rare for me to switch mains but I only do see if I feel that the class has been left in design limbo for a long time (which I often felt with my elemental shaman back in the day). I currently have no plans to switch main unless Blizzard royally fuck up the class to the point that it massively under performs in raids.
Equipment and interface:
What are the specifications of your computer?
i5 4690K 3.5 GHz
NVida GTx 970
Windows 10 64 Bit
Do you have headphones and a microphone?
Yep, Logitech G430 headset which I'd easily say is one of the best reasonably priced headsets I've ever owned!
What is your latency on Kazzak-EU?
30-40 ms on average
Which addons do you use?
ElvUI, WeakAuras, DBM, Skada, Exorsus Raid tools, Pawn, KUI Nameplates
Can you link a video of one of your bosskills (with your PoV)? If not, please upload a screenshot of your UI.
Do you click abilities or do you use keybindings (or a combination of both)?
Hells no to clicking! Everything binded, have a 15 button mouse so most of my important abilities are bound to those. Anything else is keyboard.
Do you use any macros? (e.g. mouseover macros)
I use a Macro to synchronise all my dps CDs (Troll racial and Incarnation/CA). Most other macros are set as mouseovers, however I do have a focus interrupt macro for solar beam as well as a few custom scripts for innervate.
Raiding experience and guild history:
What guilds were you in before, why did you join them and why did you leave them?
In terms of guilds this expansion, there's only really 3 main ones:
Sunnmoringe - First raiding guild since my long break. Made decent progress and guys were decent enough, however guild fell apart after our raid leader moved on to another guild.
Bliss - Main guild for the whole expansion, I applied to them as their hours worked perfectly for me (only 2 main raids a week) and had a very social atmosphere which I loved. We had great progress in the earlier raids (managed CE on Emerald Nightmare). Sadly again the main roster fell apart a few weeks ago. We were struggling with a long period of recruitment and raids were being cancelled from lack of sign ups which ultimately led to guild disbanding.
IWin - Applied as I was looking for a guild with good progress that raided late enough for me to be able to join. Good players, but due to returning core members and an over influx in recruitment raid spots have become very scarce (and tbh at this rate looks like it will be a continuing problem moving into ToS as well).
Please list all the bosses you have killed when their raid tier was still the cutting edge:
(see optional template below)
Since Cutting Edge achievements only came into effect as of MoP, I only have the Emerald Nightmare one. However, I used to raid at highest difficult from Vanilla to Cata:
The Burning Crusade: 50
Wrath of the Lich King: 53
ICC: 12 - LK Server first
What sources and/or methods do you use to keep your class knowledge up to date?
Mostly check in on the druid discord channel (Dreamgrove). The major theorycrafters tend to lurk around on there and pin messages containing any major developments for the class. They post some of their findings across MMOChamp/WoW forums so I do crosscheck those for good measure.
How do you prepare for a new bossfight?
Watch all videos available on Youtube (Fatboss, Kelani) to get the full gist of everything going on. While watching the videos I visualise what I'd need to do specifically for Boomkin (e.g. what defensives to use and where) and best way to plan movement in the fight. Also bring all consumables I can, even for learning runs (even if not stated by raid leader I tend to prefer using things like Augment runes if we need to squeeze a little more dps to kill adds/hit a new phase).
Why you are applying:
What are your goals in this game?
To experience all content at its highest difficulty and to develop my skills further, in the aims of proving myself in the raid and on the logs (though not a fan of DPS padding unless it's definitely on farm ).
What are the reasons why you specifically want to join Rock Paper Scissors?
One of my previous guild mates who joined you guys (Socks) recommended you guys and from all he's said you guys sounds like a really great bunch. Also the 2 days a week raid schedule work perfectly for myself due to the job I have (I'm the asshole that helps put all the ad banners across mainstream sites ).
More about you:
Do you have any days or times you're unable to raid?:
I'm flexible on days, but in regards to time the only restriction I have is not being able to raid before 19:00 on weekdays (as I don't finish work until 18:30).
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself as a person?
What is your proudest moment/achievement in WoW?
Definitely server First LK kill on the Vashj server, though I'm also quite proud of getting the "I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am" achievement (if only for the fact that we had 25 players that miraculously had stable connections for one night!)
What is your /played?
On the druid 66 days.
On my old elemental shaman - 324 days
Anything else you would like to add or explain?
I do a fair amount of PvP on my druid so up for random/rated BGs + Arena if you're ever in the mood! Working on getting Prestige 14 for the sick bear skin.
Other than that not much else, I tend to hop around alts so best way to reach me would either be through my battle tag turel#1274 or via discord.
