Character, main and offspecs:
Main Character: Radial - Mage - Main spec is Frost
Alt-Main - Radiel - Paladin - Main spec is Retribution, Off spec is Protection
On patch 7.3 I will start leveling my 3rd Alt-Main "Xery" - Druid - And main spec him as a Guardian Druid
The reason I chose frost is that im always aiming for the top in terms of DPS, while spec usually doesnt matter at most times but rather gameplay and rotation does. I still like to choose for the current spec that tops the charts in the Meta and try to excel in that spec. I personally am a fan of Fire, but upon rejoining WoW during Legion and finding out Frost is the current best spec for mages I respecced into that and I am actually enjoying it.
Which talents do you use and which changes (if any) do you make for each specific encounter of the most current raid?
The choices are pretty simple in terms of being a Frost mage
AoE Talent Tree:
This would be my default option seeing as how currently the AoE damage of Frost mages are strong, combined with my Kiljaeden Trinket or my Zanessu waist Legendary, this would be my default option.
Single Target Talent Tree:
Would be the same as the image above however switching Splitting Ice with "Frozen Touch" and Arctic Gale with "Unstable Magic"
I would resort to this build on fights such as Harjatan/Demon Inquisition (To avoid the cleave damage during Fel squal and Bone saw)/Maiden etc to maximize my dps seeing as how there are no AoE Targets to attack.
To what extent do you play each of your offspecs?
(i.e. Do you use them in raids / are you up to date with knowledge, practice and interface / do you have any artifact power and legendaries / do you enjoy them / would you be willing to make them your main spec if beneficial for the guild)
Seeing as how all specs of a Mage are DPS Specs and the current Meta spec Frost and maybe Fire both excel in Single target/AoE there isnt much reason to switch specs between both.
My artifact knowledge level on my Frost spec is : Level 56
Current Legendaries on the Frost Mage:
1.) Kiljaeden's Burning Wish (Trinket)
2.) Magtheridons Banished Bracers (Bracers)
3.) Zanessu's Journey (Waist)
Do you have any significant alts?
As mentioned above my current Main alt is:
Alt-Main - Radiel - Paladin - Main spec is Retribution, Off spec is Protection : https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/kazzak/radiel
Did you ever change classes and do you consider doing so again in the future?
I actually did at the start of Legion. I had quit WoW after Dragon soul where my main was a Fire-specced Mage and recently rejoined on Legion. When I did that I played as a main Protection Paladin tank (My Current Alt) before realizing I wanted to play my mage again, which brings me to my current situation, an iLvl 932 Frost Mage.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I also have around 8 max level characters in total:
1.) Mage (Main)
2.) Paladin (Main-Alt)
3.) Druid (Main-Alt?)
5.) Demon Hunter
So I am willing on playing whatever is needed by the guild and being flexible to fit the needs of RPS.
Equipment and interface:
What are the specifications of your computer?
Operating System: Windows 10
Processor: Intel(R) Core i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4008 Mhz
RAM: 16 GB
Dual Monitor Setup
Broadband is at 100Mbps, so no issues connection wise
Do you have headphones and a microphone?
I have both headphones and a microphone. However, headphones work perfectly fine where I have to open a VPN to access my mic on Discord due to the block on it in the UAE. But nothing that I cant work-around.
What is your latency on Kazzak-EU?
Being in the Middle East, my latency sits at an average 120 MS, It does not set me back and everyone in the Middle East games with this latency and we have grown accustomed to it.
Which addons do you use?
I use DecUI, an offspring of a full User Interface called ElvUi. It tracks everything, along with other addons to keep my DPS - Aggro in check such as Skada, BigWigs, Weak Auras, Exorsus Raid Tools, EPGP (If needed by the guild), and GTFO.
Can you link a video of one of your bosskills (with your PoV)? If not, please upload a screenshot of your UI.
Unfortunately I do not have a video of a bosskill, but I can provide a screenshot of my UI:
Do you click abilities or do you use keybindings (or a combination of both)?
I'd say a combination of both but I keybind mostly. Skills that have a role in my rotation are keybinded to avoid any time being wasted on clicking and locating a button during a boss encounter. Non-Raid essential skills are clicked on such as Flasks, Polymorph, etc.
Do you use any macros? (e.g. mouseover macros)
As a Frost Mage I use mainly two macros:
1.) Ice Block macro that casts/cancel Ice Block.
2.) Blizzard Macro that casts Blizzard on mouseover location.
Raiding experience and guild history:
What guilds were you in before, why did you join them and why did you leave them?
I was in "Parallax - Kazzak" During Cataclysm and quit after Dragon Soul to focus on my studies.I honestly forgot on the progress made during my time over there.
I currently was in a guild called "Enter Sun". They too like Rock Papper Scissors were recruiting for a raiding team on Trade chat so I figured i'd apply and join their trial team. I loved the guild, they were friendly, progressed at a slow yet steady pace. However, due to unfortunate circumstances they had to disband because they were facing real-life issues and the main leadership of the guild was giving up on recruiting over and over because of the inconsistencies of the current raiding team (People start to screw up on bosses etc).
To add, the fact that I liked Enter Sun was because I recently rejoined Legion so I was abit rusty in terms of raiding but they still took me in as a trial, and from being in the top 10 DPS'ers of the guild, I slowly worked my way up to top 3-5 and still getting better. I improved myself by asking mages above me regarding rotations, watching Method videos/ guides, and researching.
Which brings me to RPS, trying to hopefully join your guild as a raider.
Please list all the bosses you have killed when their raid tier was still the cutting edge:
(see optional template below)
Since I rejoined during Legion. I missed out on previous raids but my current raid progress is 2/9 Mythic on Tomb of Sargeras. Ofcourse clearing the raid on Normal/Heroic.
What sources and/or methods do you use to keep your class knowledge up to date?
Research, research, and research! I watch Method videos, read up on Icy Veins and Method guides, and watch high-end streamers raid to not only learn my class better, but learn boss fights and mechanics better as well. If I end up in a raid team with someone as the same spec as me but deals better DPS, I dont hesitate to ask that person for help as well as see the damage meters to see the different to learn more regarding the rotation.
How do you prepare for a new bossfight?
Boss Videos on Youtube (FatBoss and Kelani), Discord channels, as well as Method PoV kills and Streams.
Why you are applying:
What are your goals in this game?
I wouldnt say to be in the best guild ever, but my goal is to be the best mage I can be and top the charts in EU eventually. I honestly just want to have fun playing this game, and the way I can do so is by giving myself a challenge with raiding, and be in a friendly environment.
What are the reasons why you specifically want to join Rock Paper Scissors?
Your current raid progress is by far more than enough for me to consider this guild as my pick. I like a guild that has pretty good progress and thats still progressing for me to learn and to hopefully join you at the rate your at. Furthermore, I dont have any references to this guild so i'd say thats about it.
More about you:
Do you have any days or times you're unable to raid?:
I am pretty flexible, I can fit any time and meet the requirements of the guild.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself as a person?
21 year old boy that just graduated college so I have all the time in the world to be honest. Studied programming in college. Fluent in English so communication wont be an issue. Pretty outgoing guy that loves to socialize and meet new people.
What is your proudest moment/achievement in WoW?
Eventhough my progress wasnt fully clearing Firelands during my first guild Parallax. I'd say being in that guild was my proudest moment because it is in that guild I fell in love with raiding. I had an amazing guild with people I still have in my friends list from Cataclysm days. During those days I realized the effect raiding has on me, constantly trying my best to top the DPS, not screwing up the raid to avoid my friends cussing at me and just having fun in a friendly yet challenging atmosphere. The best moment ever!
What is your /played?
Total time played: 80 Days, 15 hours
Time played on level 110: 7 Days, 6 hours.
Anything else you would like to add or explain?
I might not be the best DPS'er you see, I might not be the best raider you see, But I guarantee when given the oppurtunity, I will take advantage of it and go through every corner in order to accomplish the task given, whether it is meeting a certain DPS requirement, clearing a certain boss (No mistakes in my part) and generally helping out the raid with cooldowns. I guarantee to give my 110%.
Thank you for your time
